Furniture that quietly outlives the next trend.

We design and hand-build solid timber furniture, built-in storage and commercial fit-outs from responsibly sourced Malaysian hardwood — pieces meant to live with one family for thirty years, not thirty months.

What we make

Three quiet specialisms, one workshop.

We have deliberately kept our practice narrow. Each of the three things we do is something the team has been refining for years, and they are usually braided together in a single commission.

How we work

From first sketch to settled-in piece.

Most commissions follow a four-stage rhythm. We keep the loop tight: the same maker who drew it is the one who will bring it through your door.

Studio conversation

An unhurried session, on site or in the workshop, to walk through how the room is actually used and where the piece needs to live.

Sketch & quote

Within five working days you receive a hand-drawn elevation, a timber proposal and a transparent line-item estimate.

Bench work

Timber is selected from our seasoned stock, then cut, joined and finished entirely under one roof. We send a fortnightly progress note.

Delivery & settle

Our own team handles transport, install and a six-month settling check — humidity moves wood, and we want to see how yours behaves.

In their words

Notes from the families and operators we work with.

“They sketched the wardrobe in front of us, made one revision, and then it arrived nine weeks later exactly as drawn. Quietly the best money we have spent on the house.”

Sara & Iskandar Z.Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur

“We needed millwork for fourteen suites on a tight hospitality opening. EkoVault delivered, on schedule, with the finish quality we usually only see on one-off residential pieces.”

Wei Lin TanGM, Annexe Hotel Petaling Jaya

“What sold us was the conversation about timber sources. They could tell us which plantation our dining table came from and how long the boards had been air-drying. That level of detail is rare here.”

Questions, answered

Things prospective clients usually ask first.

A few of the questions we hear most often. If yours is not here, the contact page is the fastest way to reach us — we read every message ourselves.

What does a typical commission cost?
Built-ins start at around RM 8,500 per linear metre in solid hardwood, finished and installed. Freestanding furniture varies more widely — a six-seater dining table in figured timber generally sits between RM 11,000 and RM 18,000. Every quote is itemised so you can see exactly where the money goes.
How long does a piece take to make?
From confirmed brief to installation, expect six to ten weeks for a single freestanding piece and ten to fourteen weeks for a full room of built-ins. Hospitality fit-outs are scoped against your opening date.
Which timbers do you work with most?
Predominantly chengal, merbau and meranti from FSC-certified Malaysian plantations, with occasional figured kembang semangkok and reclaimed nyatoh for specific commissions. We will always disclose the origin lot in writing before cutting.
Do you deliver outside Klang Valley?
Yes. We regularly install in Penang, Ipoh, Melaka, Johor Bahru and Kuching. East Malaysia projects are quoted with sea-freight included and a local install partner who has worked with us for years.
What if the wood moves after install?
Solid timber breathes with humidity, and Malaysia is humid. We schedule a free six-month settling visit on every commission to re-tune door gaps, drawer runs and any seasonal movement. Structural integrity is covered for ten years.
Can we visit the workshop before committing?
Please do. Studio visits are by appointment, Tuesday to Saturday. You will see current work on the benches and can handle samples of every timber we stock. Most of our clients say it is the moment they decide to commission.
Do you take on smaller jobs — a single shelf, a repair?
Occasionally, yes — particularly repairs to pieces we originally made. For small new builds, our minimum project value is RM 6,500 so the bench time makes sense for both sides.

Considering a piece, a built-in, or a full fit-out?

Tell us about the room, the dimensions and the rhythm of your day. We will respond within two working days with a sketch and a working estimate.
