Freestanding pieces built to belong to a family, not a season.

Dining tables that survive five children. Beds you re-wax once a decade. Lounge chairs that the second-eldest grandchild eventually inherits. We make a small number of these every year, one at a time, and we sign each one under the apron.

What we believe about furniture

The piece should age more honestly than you do.

A good solid-timber piece changes over time — the colour deepens, the high-use surfaces polish themselves, joinery settles a hair. That is not damage; it is the wood telling a small honest story about the household it lives in. We design for that long arc, not for the day you photograph it for Instagram.

  • Single-batch timber for visual consistency across the whole piece
  • Hand-cut mortise & tenon, dovetail, sliding dovetail joinery
  • Joinery exposed where it belongs, hidden where it does not
  • Plant-based oils and natural beeswax — no solvent lacquers
  • Made-to-measure dimensions, not catalogue defaults
  • Signed under the apron with maker name and completion month

Forms we make most

The seven repeated commissions of the studio.

Not the only things we make — but the forms that walk through the workshop most often. Each is fully customisable in timber, dimensions and finish.

Dining tables

Live-edge or trimmed-rectangular. Seating capacities from four to twelve. Most popular in chengal with a hand-rubbed oil finish.

Bed frames

Solid timber four-poster, platform and panelled-headboard configurations. King and super-king are our most common requests.

Lounge armchairs

Curved-arm or boxy-frame, with linen or naturally dyed cotton upholstery. Joinery intentionally celebrated rather than hidden.

Benches

Entry benches, end-of-bed benches and the long communal benches we make as companions to our larger dining tables.

Armoires & chests

Freestanding wardrobes and blanket chests, cedar-lined and detailed with hand-turned brass. Often commissioned as wedding pieces.

Sideboards & consoles

Long dining-room sideboards with sliding doors, narrow hallway consoles, and the in-between pieces that anchor a transition between rooms.

Writing desks

Solo desks and partner desks with cable management worked into the joinery. Often paired with our Bayu armchair.
